In a village near the mountains, there lived a young boy named Ahmed. Ahmed was known for his kindness, always helping his neighbours and caring for animals. One rainy evening, as Ahmed was walking home from the market, he heard a soft meow coming from a nearby tree. Looking up, he saw a tiny kitten clinging to a high branch, too scared to come down.

Without a second thought, Ahmed climbed the tree, even though it was slippery from the rain. Carefully, he scooped up the kitten and held it close, whispering calming words to ease its fear. Once they were safely on the ground, the kitten nuzzled into his arms, purring softly.

At home, as Ahmed dried the kitten and fed it some warm milk, his mother smiled at him. "You showed great mercy today, Ahmed, just like Allah, Ar-Raheem, shows mercy to us," she said.

"What does that mean, Mama?" Ahmed asked, curious.

"It means Allah forgives us when we make mistakes and is always kind and loving, even when we don’t deserve it," she explained. "Allah’s mercy is endless, and He loves for us to be merciful to others."

Ahmed thought about how he had felt when he saw the kitten scared and helpless. "I’ll always try to help others like that, Mama," he said with a big smile. "I want to be merciful, just like Allah, Al-Raheem."
